To reduce your expenses, buying food in bulk just might help. And that is why I’m sharing with you means and ways to preserve the food you bought with your hard-earned money to avoid wasting it.
In trying to store foods properly, it is important to first of all purchase high-quality and good produce.
The premise of storage is that a good product was acquired in the first place.
This notes storage methods for each food type and will be added upon as we go.
- Always store food produce in clean and hygienic environment.
- Dispose of all waste especially food waste promptly and appropriately.
- Immediately fix issues that may lead to the presence of rats and roaches around the storage area.
Grains:
Rice.

Store in an airtight containers.

Allow to air dry some.

Egusi
Peeled and blended egusi are to be put in air tight containers and stored in the freezers.
Ogbono
Dried ogbono seeds blended and whole are to be put in ait tight containers and stored in freezers.
Crayfish
Cleaned and blended crayfish are to stored in air tight containers and put in freezers.
Red Palm Oil
Place the Kegs on a wooden surfave at least. Do not store it on the floor. Always use dark containers to store red oils, not clear see through bottles.
Onions
Check for softer ones around the head and separate them from the others.
Store in a basket in an airy location.
Peel off the extra skin layer hanging on it.
Do not allow moisture anywhere near it.
Check for insects and roaches around and take them out.
Eggs
Do not store near any other produce as they absorb smells from the surrounding.
Clean off all dirt on each eggs with a warm clean rag.
Do not run under water to clean except when ready to use.
Check for spoilage by watching for floating when put in a bowl of water.

It is important to treat foods as though they are fragile, because they are.
