Before you get confused by my choice of title, the word GOAT stands for Greatest of All Time and not Capra aegagrus hircus.
While growing up, I had the privilege to be called Messi too, if you’re really gifted in the art of soccer then your nickname will be between these two, Messi and Ronaldo. There was a time I was referred to as MessiRonaldo, the two combined lol, well this write-up is not about me so enough about blowing my trumpet.
It’s thrilling how two men turned themselves into tribes, becoming more than icons, the beauty of mastery is what they’ve shown to the world, and the inspiring part is none of them came from affluence, they both had humble beginnings.
For almost two decades now the world of football has been about two individuals, two individuals who have mastered their craft exceptionally. They have given the world beauty to behold, and to some a course to uphold, even in their thirties which is considered aged for the game of football they’re still trending and the world doesn’t want to give up the joy they find in their supposed rivalry.
I personally have no favorite, they both inspire me. Their lives have taught me that no talent or skill is insignificant, what makes the difference is how good you are and also that the gift of a man can make room for him.
